  • What does Otterbein UMC believe?
Our mission at OUMC is reach out with the positive message of Jesus Christ to all people. We believe that each person is called to work out his or her own theology based on the Scripture, which we revere as the ultimate authority. We believe in one true God, who has all power, wisdom and goodness. A God who made and preserves all things. We believe in grace, in that God loves every person and continually seeks to forgive our failure to be obedient. We believe that God revealed Himself on earth in the form of Jesus of Nazareth Both the words and actions of Jesus, as recorded in the scriptures, help us to better understand the loving nature of God. And that through the ultimate act of giving his life, Jesus reconciled us with himself. Thereby, through faith in Jesus Christ, we become reconciled with God. We believe in the Holy Spirit through which God reveals himself today in different ways.

  • How can I begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
Take a look at our "About God" page in the "Library" for an indepth answer to that question. Please also feel free to contact us, as we would love to discuss this with you in person.
